The App collects only the minimum information needed to provide its core functionality.
### Information you provide directly
- **Account information** (only if the App has accounts): email address and password used to create and access your account.
- **Content you create in the App**: any data, notes, entries, settings, or preferences you save while using the App.
### Information collected automatically
- **Anonymous device identifier**: a randomly generated identifier created on first launch and stored on your device. Used to associate your data with your installation. Not linked to your identity, not shared with third parties for advertising.
- **Crash and performance data**: when the App crashes or encounters an error, we collect anonymized technical details (device model, OS version, stack trace) via Sentry to diagnose and fix the issue. No personal content is included.
- **Usage analytics**: anonymized event data (e.g., which screens you open, which features you use) via PostHog, used solely to improve the App. No personal content is included.
### Information we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your name unless you choose to provide it.
- We do not collect your precise location.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera unless you explicitly grant permission for a specific feature.
- We do not sell your data to anyone.
- We do not use your data for third-party advertising.

## 2. How We Use Information
We use the information collected to:
- Provide and maintain the App's functionality
- Sync your data across your devices (if applicable to your plan)
- Diagnose and fix bugs and crashes
- Understand which features are used so we can improve the App
- Process subscription payments (handled by Apple's App Store — we do not see your payment details)

## 3. How Information Is Stored
- **On-device data** is stored in your device's secure storage (iOS Keychain, Android Keystore, or similar).
- **Cloud-synced data** (if applicable) is stored on Convex (https://convex.dev), a managed database service. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest.
- **Analytics data** is stored by PostHog (https://posthog.com).
- **Crash reports** are stored by Sentry (https://sentry.io).

## 4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share data only with the service providers listed above (Convex, PostHog, Sentry) strictly for the purposes described, and only the minimum data each service needs.
We may disclose information if required by law (e.g., subpoena, court order) or to protect the rights, property, or safety of users or the public.

## 5. Your Rights
You can:
- **Access your data**: visible in the App; contact us for an export.
- **Delete your data**: use the "Delete Account" option in the App's Settings screen, which permanently deletes all data associated with your account from our systems. If your App is anonymous-only, deleting and reinstalling the App removes all associated data.
- **Opt out of analytics**: contact us at steven@astrum.software and we will exclude your account from analytics collection.

If you are in the EU/EEA, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA respectively, including the right to access, correct, port, and delete your personal data, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact steven@astrum.software and we will delete it.
